I am thrilled to receive the Bram Stoker Award FOR SUPERIOR ACHIEVEMENT IN NON-FICTION for my book  Nolan on Bradbury: Sixty Years of Writing about the Master of Science Fiction (Hippocampus Press).

I’ve been fortunate enough to have won several awards, and people ask: “What do they mean to you?”

For me, an award from a professional organization, such as the Horror Writers Association, means that my writing has reached the hearts and minds of my peers. As a writer, I always strive for perfection (which is of course, impossible to achieve). If a work of mine, or the works of my 60-year career, merit an award, then I’m a step closer to my goal.

It’s worth seeking.

I thank one and all who have supported my goal through six decades.

And I ain’t through yet!
